 “Carnival of Fantasy” is a light early intermediate/intermediate level piano solo designed for one-hand playing.

• Mode: A minor (with accidentals)
• Time signature: 4/4
• Concepts: chromatic scales, dotted eighth + sixteenth note rhythms, triplets, 4-note chords (in one hand), syncopation, accent, all accidentals (including natural), eighth rest, seventh chords, hand position changes (subtle and leaps), ledger lines (once up to 3 lines), tied notes, switching clefs
• Range: 5 octaves

The rhythms include 8th note triplets, plus eighth + sixteenth note patterns to create syncopation.  The smallest rest is an eighth rest.

At this level, students are expected to move across the piano more smoothly.  “Carnival of Fantasy” uses chromatic patterns and leaps, using chords as the foundations for dual practice in keyboard geography.
