Fly across the black keys in “Misuki’s Supersonic Run”, a fast-paced, playful elementary piano solo.  This piece is perfect for piano players who love to push how quickly they play!

Have you ever seen a dog have the zoomies?  Misuki would sometimes run so fast, she looked like a blur!  Whether she ran laps in the backyard, launched herself off the couch or ran on the stairs, she always brought a smile to our faces.

Misuki’s Supersonic Run Level:

“Misuki’s Supersonic Run” is an early elementary-level, rote piano solo.  This piece celebrates the black key groups with a playful approach that is perfect for piano players who want to play quickly.

  • Mode: G flat Major (key signature), rote
  • Time Signature: 4/4
  • Concepts: black key groups, flats, pedal, staccato, fourth intervals, hand-over-hand patterns, crescendo, diminuendo

“Misuki’s Supersonic Run” is best taught by rote.  This emphasizes feeling the black-key group patterns under the fingers.

Because this is a rote piece, a key signature is used in place of accidentals.  However, to help visually see the many cross-overs, note groups are marked with “LH” and “RH” brackets.  It might be useful for a student to create a colour-coded map to visually see the patterns.

The smallest note is an eighth note.  These are generally part of a run of notes and flow from hand to hand.  Both quarter and half notes break up the rhythm to create interest.

While the pedal is not necessary, it does help create a big contrast between the smooth and bouncy sections.  It also helps create a smooth transition between hands.

Misuki’s Supersonic Run Bonus:

All sheet music comes with original cover art.  “Misuki’s Supersonic Run” comes with composer notes that include mastery tips and “make it your own” suggestions to develop an individual interpretation.

More About “Misuki – La Princesa” Collection:

“Misuki’s Supersonic Run” is part of the “Misuki – La Princesa” for elementary-level students who love a good story behind the music.

These are our favourite memories of Misuki and range from tempting her to enter couch cushion forts, zoomies (supersonic runs), and her cute antics while begging for food.  Every piece has a fourth interval that represents her “yip” and you will hear her love of life and family in each piece.

The Composer Notes include ways to adapt or play with the music so students become part of the creative process.

The licensing terms help your families understand how digital sheet music works.  Just like books or apps, each purchase is for one user (or in this case, your studio). This makes it easy for you to explain copyright to students and parents.
