Light Reflecting off Raindrops is an ethereal, peaceful piece for your beginner teen and adult piano students that sounds harder than it is.  Easy to teach by rote!

Designed with your studio recital in mind, this piano solo was inspired by “The Raindrop Prelude”.  This soundscape creates a moment outside of time with the raindrops falling and “hearing” the harmony of sunlight reflecting on each. 

Light Reflecting off Raindrops Level:

“Light Reflecting off Raindrops” is an early elementary (rote) through elementary (reading) piano solo.  This piece is designed with beginner teen and adult students that would like a piece that is a break from their busy week.  Perfect for your studio recital, your student will shine with interesting harmonies designed to be easy under beginner fingers.

• Mode: A minor
• Time Signature: 4/4
• Concepts: chord bridges, both hands playing same clef, fermata

Starting finger numbers begin the piece.  With no hand position changes, this piece is even more approachable.

Barrede eighth notes are the smallest note and played strictly in the left-hand to build finger dexterity.  An augmented rhythm creates the end ritardando.

To avoid visual clutter, a beginning text cue replaces an 8va symbol for the entire piece.

The pedal is held until the end of the piece.  The dynamic levels create an ebb and flow feel so it never becomes auditorily overwhelming.  The fermata at the end creates a gentle end to the piece.
