Relax with this reflective, peaceful piece exploring hand-over-hand arpeggios.  This piece is designed for teen and adult piano players who want a “sounds harder than it is” piece.  Spanning four octaves on the piano, you’ll wow audiences with this soundscape.

The Harvest Moon Level:

“The Harvest Moon” is an elementary-level piano solo.  This piece moves through four octaves on the piano to create a flowing soundscape.

  • Mode: B minor (accidentals)
  • Time Signature: 3/4
  • Concepts: sharps, 8va, hand-over-hand arpeggios, chord bridges, diminuendo, ritardando, small hand position changes/shifts, both hands in treble clef at times

Starting finger numbers and circled finger numbers to indicate hand position changes are included.  Accidentals, written as sharps, are used rather than a key signature.

The smallest note in the rhythm is a quarter note.  This allows for smooth transitions during the hand-over-hand arpeggios in the middle of the piece.  Ledger notes outside of middle C use alpha notes.

A single-line melody is used and hands move by octaves for the hand-over-hand arpeggios.

The Harvest Moon Bonus:

All sheet music comes with original cover art.  “The Harvest Moon” comes with tips for mastering the piece.

More About “The First Autumn – Soundscapes” Collection:

“The Harvest Moon” is part of “The First Autumn – Soundscapes” collection that celebrates teen and adult beginners.  Harmonies are simplified to create a complex soundscape without the need for more advanced techniques.  These great level-appropriate recital pieces will be a hit with your students and audience.

This collection is more appropriate for teen and adult beginners who began several months earlier so they can successfully play the harmony and melody.

  • Sheet Music
  • Description, Composer Notes, Terms of Use
  • Related Pieces Suggestions

Students love a bit of cover art.  It helps them get into the mood and story of a piece.

The Composer Notes include ways to adapt or play with the music so students become part of the creative process.

The licensing terms help your families understand how digital sheet music works.  Just like books or apps, each purchase is for one user (or in this case, your studio). This makes it easy for you to explain copyright to students and parents.

The final page shows related pieces with previews.  Perfect for inspiring students’ next musical adventure!
